Art and Music: Hill Country Funk at Hill Design+Gallery | Design Guide

An excellent online editorial for the upcoming show at which all work from my Agave Series will be featured in one gallery for the first time!
Pictured is the painting that I worked on today, one of four new Agave paintings, entitled "Agave Oceanic".  See my previous post for more background on how I found the theme for this new work.
I am working with oils on a substrate that I prepared
myself in order to create a  textured surface. A few more strokes and this painting will be complete.  See the completed originals at Hill Design + Gallery.  Meanwhile, happy painting!

Ringing in the new year with abstraction

Ghost images for 4 new works
It takes a nudge for me to get back into the studio after a holiday.  Over the past couple of weeks I spent an hour or two working whenever family was elsewhere, and the distractions were easily ignored.  I managed to get my canvases and other substrates gessoed in the between hours.  I am working on Ampersand board to which I applied layers of gesso in various tones of blue with a textured surface.
Join us at this lovely Hill country venue!
Yesterday had a full 5 hour session to sketch in my "ghost" images for 4 new pieces.  I had spent hours getting each image narrowed down to the best abstract composition by reducing the size of the image.  I placed the 4 boards in various configurations to check for composition based on abstraction.  Now for the fun part!  Layers of acrylic with a final glaze of oils.
These new works will be part of an upcoming exhibit of my Agave Series at Hill Design + Gallery

New Online Gallery page for Marilyn Rea Nasky Art

Spent my day so far setting up an online gallery page with Painter's Showcase.
The link is also posted on my website.  My goal is to research as many online galleries as possible and test the theory that there really are reputable sites from which to sell fine art. If anyone has any ideas about online galleries please comment.
