"Poet Tree" progression Focal point

As I have gone through the process of completing my 3, 24 x 24" canvases for "Poet Tree" at studio2gallery, where I am the featured artist in August 2010, I have thought about what Bob had to say regarding focal point.
One afternoon as my teenage son looked at the paintings with me, he said, "My eye doesn't know where to look." 

Hmmm...time to create a focal point.  
Take a look at the progression of the painting Aspen Series: Cathedral I, which is nearing completion. This image is the most recent, and comes closest to capturing my feeling about being in the high country of Colorado.
